Wendy Burch began her public musical life in the 1970s and early 1980s as a folk singer and songwriter in New Mexico, Santa Cruz, CA, and Denver, CO. In the mid-1980s and 1990s, she shifted her focus to writing and studying poetry, and received a master's degree in Creative Writing. For the past ten years, she has collaborated with other musicians, composers, poets and artists, using her original vocal work, poetry and performance

Wendy has been published in various journals nationally and internationally. She has performed with text, poetry and singing in Joe Catalano's It's In The Cards and As Oceans Curve in San Francisco at the Lab, A Gallery, The Marin Headlands for the Arts, and the Santa Cruz Art Museum; and with movement, singing, and poetry in Pauline Oliveros' 5-City celebration via videophone. She performed with narration and Tai Chi choreography in Joe Catalano's Yester Day Foretold at the Mission Cultural Center.

Wendy has read her work and performed on TV Channel 8, in Roseville, CA, and on the St. Louis, MO radio show, Poetry Beat. She also recently read her poetry on KPFA. Her most recently published work is her book, Iridescent, Madly. Her latest collaborative work is Traffic Prayers, formerly performed with her late husband, Joe Catalano, and which she now performs with musicians Marianne McDonald and Toyoji Tomida.

In addition to her poetry writing, Wendy works as a singer and songwriter with a Celtic band, Pladdohg, plays with the Mills College Didjeridoo Ensemble, owns a thriving pet care business in the Bay Area of California, and continues to collaborate in various venues with other artists. She is also working on a book about her recent travels and experiences in Nepal and India.
