Hi, all,
Dayv here (aka Dave Storer),

I've been kind of didjeri-dormant for a couple of
years here, just too busy at work, and too few didj
players in the St. Louis area to get a critical mass. 
I do a short gig at our church coffee house once or
twice a year, and did a New Years Eve party, but
that's about it.

The good news is that at the end of August, I'm
dropping back to half time at work (health reasons)
and then retiring at the end of the year.  

One of my main goals after retirement is to see if I
can breath some life into a STL didj community.  

Stay tuned (C# of course, the [suposed] resonant
frequency of the Earth.)\

 Is it that Ben is going traveling and it's easier to just have the site
closed until he's ready to jump back in to the responsibilities?
 There's actually no need for speculation. We want the real story and only
that. If anyone knows straight from Ben and if it's appropriate to share
please let us know what's up. Ben has really done ALOT for all of us in
the didge community whether you know it or not, and he comes from the
purest of intentions.

Chad,

If you follow the link to Ben's site he has posted his reasons.  It is a
combination of things - economic, exhaustion, frustration - but it is
clearly not travelling and it is easier to have the site closed.  Go to
hicks sticks and get it directly from the horse's mouth.

Hey gang;
My update is that I'm currently living in Las Vegas, and playing
full-time with the Bagpipe, drum, and didgeridoo band, "Wicked Tinkers".
We are performing at JT, and I am planning to attend Chad's fest as
well. Hope to see many of you at one event or the other. I'm also
playing keys part-time in the Vegas show pits. It's been a while since
I've done that kind of work, and I'm really enjoying it. My first CD,
"Bonfire Dreaming" has done better than I could have hoped, and I am
currently working on the as-yet-unnamed CD number 2.  Life is good.
 
Yeah, I am personally saddened by Ben's shop closing. On the other hand,
it is a wise man who truly understands what is important in his life. It
looks like Ben has reached clarity about these things, and taken
appropriate action. My we all be so brave.

Dude, I gotta say, I am sooo jealous!! The Tinkers look like they have a
blast everytime they play. I wish we could have something similar here on
the east coast.... dang, I wish I was in such a band!!! Heck...I even still
have my kilt!!
 
Hope to shake your hand and say hello at the fest!
 
I agree with you about Ben's situation, but heartened by his realization
about what's important to him.
 
BTW, Gandhi is one of my heros, too

Hey Jay, I caught the Wicked Tinkers show last fall in Hartford.  
Great energy! I'm also playing some didj with pipes -I'm in a band  
called "Trouz Bras" that plays Celtic music from Brittany. Also a  
bagpipe-centric band, though our pipes are in "G."

Where did you get your bronze horn?  From Simon O'Dwyer, or is  
someone else making them now?

It is my extremely sad duty to report that the artist of 'Hard Tongue 
Didgeridoo' passed away today (Sunday). Cause of death is uncertain at this 
time but someone who was at the scene said it looked like he had passed away 
peacefully in his sleep. He was out fishing this morning and everyone said 
he seemed happy.

I'm not sure what to say or how to feel at the moment, I just know I'll miss 
him and some of the plans we had. He was a great potential leader who was 
going through some personal struggles. I hope he has found peace. It is 
obviously a great loss both for his own people and for the rest of us who 
learned from and were inspired by him.

Don't feel like you can't keep learning from him and his CD. You're all an 
important part of his legacy.

including businesses, community groups, etc. I was thinking Buku-Larrnggay 
and all of you could contribute a very moving message together. Basically,

this man who has left us way too soon.
