In-Reply-To: <20070626151703.91D468B336@xprdmxin.myway.com> Message-ID: <537741.63802.qm@web31013.mail.mud.yahoo.com> Hi, all, Dayv here (aka Dave Storer), I've been kind of didjeri-dormant for a couple of years here, just too busy at work, and too few didj players in the St. Louis area to get a critical mass. I do a short gig at our church coffee house once or twice a year, and did a New Years Eve party, but that's about it. The good news is that at the end of August, I'm dropping back to half time at work (health reasons) and then retiring at the end of the year. One of my main goals after retirement is to see if I can breath some life into a STL didj community. Stay tuned (C# of course, the [suposed] resonant frequency of the Earth.)\ Dayv. --- A wrote: > Hey is the Famous DidgeList now a thing of the > past? Where did everyone go??? It is my extremely sad duty to report that the artist of 'Hard Tongue Didgeridoo' passed away today (Sunday). Cause of death is uncertain at this time but someone who was at the scene said it looked like he had passed away peacefully in his sleep. He was out fishing this morning and everyone said he seemed happy. I'm not sure what to say or how to feel at the moment, I just know I'll miss him and some of the plans we had. He was a great potential leader who was going through some personal struggles. I hope he has found peace. It is obviously a great loss both for his own people and for the rest of us who learned from and were inspired by him. Don't feel like you can't keep learning from him and his CD. You're all an important part of his legacy. _________________ -Randy Graves Hi all, People often post tributes to recently deceased in the local "newspaper," including businesses, community groups, etc. I was thinking Buku-Larrnggay and all of you could contribute a very moving message together. Basically, I'd write a header along the lines of: To the families of M. Mununggurr, Buku-Larrnggay Mulka would like to pass on the condolences of just a handful of the many didjeridu players around the world who have been inspired by this man who has left us way too soon. Randin Graves, Yirrkala, NT, Australia John MacDonald, Daegerlen, Switzerland Warner Recabaren, San Diego, California, USA etc. etc. I imagine we could get a list that's longer than the whole paper is normally! I'll try to include everyone who's emailed or posted on this forum, but if you'd like, resend your full name and location to us with the subject header "tribute" via the form at http://www.yirrkala.com/yidaki/contact.html Spread the word! BUT - the DEADLINE is the end of the day, Tuesday 24 July. Don't let this be one of those endless email forwards, but let's keep the deadline, folks! We could also pass it on to the memorial service, where they often read letters from well wishers. I assume they'd just say, "ummm... there's 200 names here" rather than read them all, but it'd still get the point across! _________________ -Randy Graves From richard-lists at imagecraft.com Thu Jul 19 15:42:34 2007 From: richard-lists at imagecraft.com (Richard) Date: Thu, 19 Jul 2007 15:42:34 -0700 Subject: [Didjeridu] RIP M Mununggurr In-Reply-To: <010701c7ca4b$2ad94af0$0500a8c0@RANDY> References: <010701c7ca4b$2ad94af0$0500a8c0@RANDY> Message-ID: <200707192253.l6JMrc8Y099774@dragonsgate2.imagecraft.com> Sad news indeed.
