I can't remember when I actually joined the list.
Sometime around '97, I believe. Per, do you have any better
recollection?
I used to live on the East Coast, and was heavily involved in the
Starwood festival scene. Many great players came through there in the
90's. It is still going strong, and many people get their first taste of
the didge vibe there. John's short-lived Solstice didge event was also
awesome. With John at the helm, how could it *not* be?
Joshua Tree 2000 was really my big didge awakening. Though I had been
playing for a number of years at that point, that festival was a
catalyst for creativity in my life. Such awesome players! Such wonderful
people! Such a great scene!! It was my first time in the American
SouthWest, and I fell in love with the desert.
I'm now living in Las Vegas - playing more than I used to, but still
less than I'd like. I'm mostly reading and posting on the Tribe.net
"didgeridoo" list these days. I find it easier to sort through the
threads and ideas than this kind-of shotgun approach to reading posts.
But it's good to see some activity again here!
Peace
Jay Atwood
