Hi everyone,

Wendy's new campaign is obviously doing what it's built to do... getting people
to talk about the commercials. You wonder what they're up to on a deeper level,
when the only real objective is to make the 30 second impression last longer in
your mind. On Madison Avenue they call these ads "sticky", and that's the goal.
You don't have to like them and they don't have to make sense, as long as they
stick.

I have truly fond memories of early Wendy's TV spots directed by Seldemeyer.
Remember "Where's the Beef?", and my absolute all-time favorite one which poked
fun at a USSR Fashion Show... to this day it makes me laugh out loud. If you
don't remember the Soviet Union commercial check it out here on YouTube:

buy you a frosty to go with your ice cold sense of humor ;-)

This new series of Wendy's TV ads were directed by the guy that did the famous
beer commercial during the Super Bowl––the one where the skydiver chickens
 out
until his mates throw a six pack out the plane door and he chases after it. I
think Wendy's is taking a chance with this campaign to be sure, but look at us
going on and on about it. It's 1:04 AM right now I'm wondering if the drive
thru is open late (just kidding).
