He will be painting in person at the Dreaming Down Under Gallery, through 1/14/08. Located at the bottom of main street, Park City, Utah. Anyone in the area should pop in to say hello. Just amazing to watch him work, the paintings just seem to pour out of him at a very rapid pace. Very inspirational. Oh.... he also plays something the local news calls a.....diggery-do. I know some of you are caring for elderly parents like we have been doing for nearly 15 years.. My Dad, Martin (97) chose Dec. 24, 2007 to make his departure. Wasn't entirely unexpected, but still kinda shocking since he took it upon himself to speed up the inevitable. Confronted with the outrageous expense of running an obit in our local paper I have opted instead to put both my parent's obits on our website at _www.logrhythmmusic.com/page7_ (http://www.logrhythmmusic.com/page7) and another epilog to the Biggie Book/journal regarding the deer behavior surrounding Dad's passing. Going thru parental possessions is an arduous task but is also very revealing. The single biggest lesson that we can share is to not wait for your elderly to leave without going thru their papers and possessions in detail. So many questions arise like who is that in the picture, and when & where did you get that whatchamacallit, and who gets it when you are through with it? Then too, there is a bit of guilt that tags along with not having done certain things and asked questions when you should have. Some of you are already aware that we have more than 50 years worth of letters that my parents (mostly Mom) wrote to their parents and Mom's sister. They are very entertaining reading being weekly diaries of our lives, and one such letter about my brother's and my aspirations for the future goes something like this: Mom asks my brother, "David, what would you like to be some day?" He responds with the same answer that he has used for 2 years with " a farmer." Keep in mind that my brother was 7 and I was 5 at the time. Then she asks me "and what would you like to be Per?" to which I respond "a snowman." Upon hearing that my brother immediately went about trying to convince me that there was no future in being a snowman, and so we both ultimately settled on becoming soldiers. To this day I still haven't experienced being either a snowman or a soldier, and I think I like it that way;-) Cheers, Per & Eileen **************Start the year off right. It's quite cold here in Portland - cold and wet. I needed to get away so I'm planning a sound healing road trip from here down to San Diego and back up. My girlfriend joins me with the sound nights and we're headed out for a couple weeks in late February. I'm wondering who's out there between here and southern CA who might want to meet up or play or such. We're also looking for places that might be interested in hosting our 'Sound Awakening' event - 1.5 hours of didjeridus, Tibetan singing bowls, a few gongs, flute and more. We spend much of the time floating through the room playing on/over people so they feel the soundwaves as well as hearing them. These are 'bring your own pillow and blanket' events, much more of a sound meditation journey than a concert performance or bar gig. Anyone out there along the route that might know of a yoga studio, community center or private living room where we could do our thing? At this time it looks like we'll concentrate mostly in the areas of San Francisco, Santa Cruz and San Diego, though a good opportunity anywhere is a good thing. We'll also have a few cds, some nice Tibetan bowls and a few gongs with us for sale. I'd love to hear from any of you, even if you aren't along the path. Who's out there doing something fun? Hoping to hear from you, Tom http://www.sonicmassage.com ____________________________________________________________________________________ Looking for last minute shopping deals? Djalu's Rripangu Yirdaki Masterclass is going ahead! I've taken on the task of organising and promoting the event so if anyone might be interested who doesn't know about it already, check out the link below: http://www.ididj.com.au/education/eco.html We might have to do several of these each year to keep class size manageable and to keep the whole thing as personable and intimate as possible.
