on the other hand, there are lots of positive things going on right now .
. . like the release of the weasel walter quartet cd (w/ damon smith,
randy hunt, john gruntfest, henry kaiser, aram shelton and josh allen - 4
at a time) and the fact that said group will play at the not-bad sounding
room called the stork club on the 23rd. 

of course, this newsgroup isn't to be used to promote things like that.
back in the day you had to send out letters on papyrus, scribed in the
blood of whores to everybody telling them that your jug band would be
playing at the cakewalk. these are the best of times.
