understanding form from reading this novel than I have from any other
text on music - it should be considered a textbook on
post-structuralism).

- also informative in this regard (and along the same lines) is The Atrocity
Exhibition by JG Ballard

- I've recently been reading this anthology (for my convenience - sorry
Jacob) - Audio Culture - Readings in Modern Music (excerpts from texts by
Russolo, Braxton, Bailey, Eno and many more) - a very good primer - the new
music equivalent of the Art in Theory book Aurora was reading. On the
convenient anthology front, there's also the "Hidding Wiring of Modern
Music" published by the Wire - though I find the former book more
interesting than the latter.

- what got me into this stuff: Greil Marcus' Lipstick Traces (this was one
of my favorite books when I was 16)

- there's also Teddy Adorno's writings on Jazz (probably nicely compiled
somewhere by this point - I have several in various readers from college
days)
