I've lectured a couple times on the finale movement of the first
Brandenburg, based on Marissen's analysis of the first. Man. . . when
the whole picture started to come together. . . I still almost weep,
really. And had a huge effect on how I thought about all music, my own
included.

The problem is that I'm now totally dissatisfied with any performance
of it; they change things to "spice it up" and totally miss the point.
The exception is the Hogwood version.

Anytime. It's really a dense book. . . a trudge sometimes.
