Interesting, but already been done! Scot Gresham-Lancaster brought along a friend who had built a theremin into an Altoids box, at an early gig at the Tuva Space! I can't remember the guy who was playing it, but I think he was Japanese. 

Tom (Duff) -- do you remember that? I remember being amazed by the little instrument (which he as using as a controller for something like MAX or Supercollider....)

Not to belittle the chap in Ithaca that his Altoid theremin. Personally, I think the pinhold camera is pretty cool, too.
