The actual history has to do with a concert a long time ago where I 
served sausages. I was trying to draw a real life parallel to an art 
movement called "Capitalist realism" that included Gerhard Richter and 
Sigmar Polke. Polke put sausages in his abstract drawings - I served 
actual sausage with our abstract music.

   Gino latched on to it, and used it as a term for when someone 
violates the list rule by posting an event on the discussion list as I 
often did in my signature.
However, since the lists were split because people complained that they 
wanted events and not discussion and not vice-versa the actual "rule" 
it violates is the unspoken Bay Area rule of:
  "always complain about attendance at our gigs but never, ever, do any 
promotion and you must make fun of those who do"
