thousands?  that's a show a week for 20 years.

but it's at his house, right?  $25 for a house concert would make it 
less special for me, i think.

but i would agree with:

or rather, it's just another obstacle/excuse not to go, but not THE 
reason people don't show up. the real problem 
is people just don't go to concerts no matter what the price is.

and  yes, this is a capitalistic society - supply and demand. if people 
aren't coming,  reduce the price or upgrade your 
product/packaging/marketing  or add a treat in the bottom of the box or 
try a hostile takeover or something.
