I saw Bosetti at 21 Grand. I wasn't familiar with his
sound text stuff, so I was a bit surprised. I thought
his solo set was going to be saxopone. Not so.
At first I hated it. Then I loved it....because it
was so unexpected. Then I wondered how much I would
like it if it hadn't been unexpected. Hmmm....
In general though I thought it was well done, thought
out, convincing, clear, regardless of whether or not I
liked it (which in the grand scheme of things doesn't
matter much). I checked out his website and I guess
he does a lot of this stuff.
I'm sure others who are more familiar with his work
could comment more authoritatively.
Always fun to see these "lower-case (shoot me now for
using that term....too late)" folks live, since it's
hard to tell who's who and what's what on the
recordings. It's nice to see how they are actually
producing some of these sounds (so I can steal them).
Ha.
