Oops, this came in as that was going out. We seem to be on the same 
wavelength, except that I thought the beginning of Diaspora was so 
boring I put it  down- still haven't finished the book. On the other 
hand, I'd highly recommend Distress, and his short stories ("A 
Kidnapping" still gives me the creeps. . . )
