[NewMusic] tune core?

If I'm understanding TuneCore's deal compared to say, CD Baby, (being
a member of neither), here's my comparative analysis based on what
each says their deal is. Let me know if I'm misunderstanding anything
or missing a figure.

Setup:
CD Baby charges $35 one time setup fee per disc, plus $20 if you need
a barcode.

Tunecore charges $.99 "setup fee" per song, plus $.99 per store per
album. (They distribute to 10 different stores, but you can pick which
ones.) I can't tell if the barcode fee is included or additional. If
you have a 10 song album to sell on all 10 stores, that's about $20
setup I believe.

Maintenance/Sales:
CD Baby keeps 9% of all sales.

Tunecore does not take a cut of your sales, but charge $9.98 per album
per year.

So it looks like CD baby is the better deal if there aren't very many
people downloading your music. If your online sales are more than $100
or so per year, it looks like Tunecore would be the better deal,
monetarily. To make it tricky, I don't think either site will be
sending you checks until your income reaches a certain mark. (CD Baby
says $10.) Also, this doesn't take into account whether the companies
actually behave like they say they will, or how good of a job they'll
do in actually getting it out there. Since Tunecore doesn't make a
commission, I don't imagine they'd get it out there as much as cd
baby.
