[NewMusic] Partch

I'm wondering if anyone has any insight into the
dance portion of the Partch program last night
at Mills. The choreography and costumes were so
incredibly cheesy, so 'Waiting for Guffman', that
I kept thinking that maybe the woman playing the
Kithara was actually Parker Posey.

It's hard to believe that such an established New York
choreographer as Molissa Fenley was being serious.
Perhaps she was imagining what the Mills dance
department would have done with the piece
back in the early 50's when it was composed,
at Mills...
