Moe! put on a fun performance Friday -- a bit of a retrospective of sorts, if you include the TVs and sock monkey. An excellent way to start a westcoast tour...

There were some really lovely moments, as when he had the aluminum bat stradling the electric guitar and snare drum, and he was using the looping pedal to set up some grooves to play over. And he managed to play everything he brought (as far as I could tell).  In 15 minutes!


Besides the wonderful sounds, the place smelled great at the end, with all the smashed cassettes and tvs and guitars; puzzle pieces, plush toys, junk metal, and other debris floating around;  and fog-machine fumes. Kind of like visiting a century-old automotive repair shop that doubles as a day-care center, but has recently been looted. In a good way. 

Then there was the fabulous Partch show the next night! Incredible weekend for music.
