yes - totally - although it's easier said than done.  when we were running 
the ACME series, that was always on the top of our agenda, and somehow 
still never achieved my ideal:  some famous dude selling out the house 
with some young unknown stealing the show.

was that 'wow' sarcastic?  2x a month is a lot!!

maybe it's because i am one of those "part-time improvisers" (aka 
clasical dork), or too monagamous or something, but i never was interested in that -- as a 
performer and as a listener -- and in general more interested in hearing 
solos and long-standing groups than one-off groupings. although each 
kind has its own attributes and am interested in both (just prefer the 
former - and good thing because no one seems to asks me to 
play with them anymore -boo hoo)
