i don't think there was any criticism-and no need to defend this approach 
i guess my comment on being conservative might have been - but i 
don't think there's anything really wrong with that,  i should have 
said "more conservative"

they both had merit.  i think i liked the one the other night better 
actually.  but the one with fei and ingle was definitely a more unusual 
group dynamic -- i really admired fei's commitment to a limited (and 
inflexible) palette!
