So the software analyzes music to find the melodic 'identity' of a
musician (the sorts of note relationships the musician likes to use)
and defines it in code...

It's funny that they're offering this as both a music composing
solution and a copyright violation finder.
1) It appears their proposal for the copyright infringement detection
involves the same tool that musicians can use to 'collaborate with a
virtual Paul McCartney'. That means that any time you use this tool,
the results will be found to be in violation of copyright.
2) If I were Paul McCartney, I'd be much more upset about a company
selling a virtual 'me' that anyone could 'collaborate' with, than I
would about somebody sampling one of my existing songs, or lifting a
few notes here and there.
