You're sure of this? Really, really certain?
sl: -- I suppose we can have a semantic argument over what constitutes a
"serious way" ... but me, I spent far too much time in the late 90s making
diddly-squat an hour recording meetings and conferences that talked about
web widgets and "database-driven solutions" satisfying our every desire (or
at least making our lives orgiastically convenient). The speakers at these
meetings and conferences sure wanted to give that nirvanic (?) impression.
Better than sliced bread. The "visionary" ecstasy rivaling seeing the face
of the Virgin Mary in your grilled cheese sandwich.

How about less advertising? Or is that too utopian?
sl: -- No, but it will probably be a premium service that costs something,
as opposed to the free version where one is presented with advertising,
kinda like television. Television, huh ... nope, no one who has thought
about technology in a serious way envisions it bringing forth utopia, never.
