[NewMusic] laptop suggestion

Hmm, if I could make a suggestion ala this debate, I'd say perhaps look
into a macbook or something along the macintel lines. True, it doesn't
quite comply with the "leaning towards a pc" thing, but the ability to
dual boot in either windows or osx is a pretty zesty feature,
especially when there's freeware, etc floating around for both
platforms - versatility, ya know? Of course, I've also heard of some
freaky happenings with these boxes (discoloration, heat dissipation
problems, logic boards frying, etc...) but if you're willing to wait
for a 2nd gen release then I'd say that this could be a good way to
go...
Ala the whole sensitivity thing... uhm, well, I kind of feel that I
really don't have a right to offer an opinion, what with fitting the
textbook definition of an oppressor and all, BUT I'd just like to point
out that we're arguing over a pitiful attempt at hyping a record that
was cautiously c#&s0r3d from the getgo... and with the exception of
perhaps a very small test market, I don't think that pussy powder has
had much of a hold on the market of "necessary hygiene products" since,
well, longer than I've been alive and aware of such things, to say the
least. That said, I'm just a little perplexed as to whether it's a good
or bad thing that we've debated these two infractions to such an extent
- true, it's wonderful that we're all enlightened enough to the point
that we're able to address such issues, but at the same time a.) why
are we debating the political correctness of a faulty salespitch when
one of us could be the intrepid space monkey, go out and get the cd and
tell us how the MUSIC on it actually is? and b.) compared to some of
the other experimental/new music lists out there... well, uhm, lets
just be lucky that the highlights of insensitivity include archaic
references to dangerous hygiene products and who gets to be the token
male at the next Womantis show... Simply put, there's been some
instances out there in computerland that were just... creepy. As usual,
just some food for thought.
Ok, enough from me today. Later folks,
t.
