"Cock Rock" would to describe crunchy guitar-heavy rock in which the main
selling point would be how testosterone-heavy the band's image is. It could
certainly be used for 80's metal bands, but also 90s bands like Limp
Bizcuit, Korn, and whoever their 2000's soundalikes are.
"Butt Rock" has been used to describe much of the stuff that's played on
107.7 (The Bone). Bands like AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Company, Boston,
etc. I have a hunch it doesn't apply to prog rock bands, etc, but it's also
not quite heavy metal. Songs about rocking, picking up chicks and taking
drugs. I don't use that term often because I often like that stuff.
