if you are going pc - you may want to wait till the new microsoft attempt at
an os, vista, settles in

advice i'm being given from the IT geeks is wait 6 months

or

you could pick off a current system cheap but risk getting locked in because
of the hardware requirments vista has (btw - min spec means nothing to ms)
