I don't disagree that it was sexist, but I thought it was more mild than
women making "hold" music and men making "seed" music. And I guess I'm not
as sensitive about knocking demographic groups that I'm a member of.

Secondly, it's a theory that I've had, but my conviction about it has been
weakened as more women have been joining our music making. Lately I know
more women making "cutting edge" sounds, harsh noise, playing weird
instruments, etc. Maybe it'll turn out to be a case of men feeling like
gimmickry (under a nicer name) was in the realm of men.

I'm curious how we'd turn out if we compared record collections though.
