[NewMusic] acoustic vs. electronic

Not sure of the point...clarify?

Are you saying you agree with me because 3/4s of the instruments are
already electronic so its only a matter of time?

There seems to be a misconception that what I said is that the current
state of the instrument world is already like this. It's obviously not.

It seems that everyone is denying what I see as an incredibly clear
trend of the world, thus I make this assertion:

Older technology gets replaced by newer technology, and the currently
used paradigms and models get slowly phased out and replaced by newer
technology over the course of many years.  Or put another way;
technology evolves.

So the questions I would ask are these:

Is this previous postulation untrue?

If it is true, then why should it not equally apply to musical instruments?

And if there is a good argument why it doesn't necessarily have to, then
I would like to hear some opinions on why or if that is a good
thing...why do we cling to the things we know so strongly?

Why do we have these affections for technologies that were developed for
such a different time? The things we play now a-days are very
anachronistic. to me .. is there an argument that they really fit in
with our culture? Or are we just so steeped in tradition that we can't
get over what we know because its comfortable?

To be visionary you have to look toward the future.
