Sure. That would be the first stages of a progression in the evolution
of the flute in a certain direction. Eventually everything will
probably shrink, so that the flute will have the processing all built
in, no "computer" necessary. If we want to talk about obsolete
technologies still in use, MIDI goes right up there on the list.
