phillip, people were saying they were sick of the
gender issue before you even chimed in- apparently you
can't ask how something is sexist unless you are
sexist (insert eye rolls).

i have taken to notating my roughly composed drum
solos by drawing little sketches of what i want done
in the sort of style that i want it done in. for
instance, if i want to rub brushes violently on a oven
grate, i'll draw a simple sketch of brushes being
rubbed violently on an oven grate. doubt that helps,
but....

responding to some other of PG's comments:

my dad was also born in Iowa and he also has the most
integrity of anybody i've ever met. And i usually
talk shit about that place....

music, like all art IS important. humans are great at
destruction, but they're also great at creation.
let's value creation.

regarding acoustic/electric: as long as people can
hear charlie parker, ornette coleman or phillip
greenlief play an alto sax, people will want to play
the alto sax. same of other acoustic instruments.

also, phillip, let me know dates you'll be up here in
march!

okay, here's for the rest of you:
i think generally it's a bad policy to live life
trying not to offend others. it's also generally a
bad policy to be offended by others.
