Look, I love science fiction too, but how possible are
your ideas in our lifetime? Let's see...

Why is that any better than having a dishwasher?
After all, you still have to move the plate from your
kitchen table to your cabinets (unless you want flying
plates, too...) And how does it happen? Where does
the excess food & debris go?

Most current antimicrobial technologies available to
the average homeowner (e.g. Anti-bacterial soap) do
more harm than good. Bacteria on the whole is good
for you, and those who are exposed to less of it are
more prone to get ill. Anti-allergen pillows already
exist. Go to your local medical supply store if you
are so inclined.

Why is that better than soft music on an alarm clock?
That isn't an improvement as much as an addition,
which is, of course the source of many inventions (see
the common practice in the 80s of adding a digital
clock to just about every damn thing).

  The bong? I think

Yeah, but I bet someone else already patented it.

No, but it's hard for me to imagine that in my
lifetime, most of the things you imagine are going to
happen.

And all of this begs the question of where the energy
to run self-cleaning plates & anti-allergen spritzing
pillows are coming from.

Frankly, if all of this stuff was available at Macy's
tomorrow I wouldn't be shelling out my $$$. But then
I don't subscribe to the American credo, "Give me
convenience or give me death!"
