It was important for me to make a solid cut social scenes when I  
decided to make the music I make now, I still like a lot of rock  
music but it has to stand up on purely musical terms for me to like it.
I am not for breaking down the boundaries between high and low art -  
I think the worthwhile work will cross them regardless.

I am just a lot more impressed with a genius improvisor who wears  
piano scarfs and bolo ties than someone worried about the right  
facial hair scheme for this month and can barely play.
