Um, guys -- let's try not to alienate our supporters in the press: Derk
Richardson wrote that piece on Tom, and he's one of the few (perhaps the
ONLY) professional writers covering the scene in this area right now.
He's also the guy that's been interviewing people for the ROVA Improv21
series. He also has a radio show on KPFA, and has supported our scene in
many, many ways over the years. I suggest you respectfully cut him some
slack.
PG:
Damn, I did not even notice that Derk had written that piece - that's
how lame I am.
I have to say I've seen him much more witty and pithy on (what are
usually) his good days. I'd be foolish to thing that the Guardian would
have given me that Goldie award if it hadn't been for Derk. I'll be
thanking him in the next life for all the kindness he's shown me (and
Andrew Gilbert and Sam Prestianni). You should be sending these folks
your press releases if you are not already doing so.
But I'd still say it wasn't one of Derk's better pieces. The fact that I
didn't recognize his writing says something to me.
