That's how it struck me, too. And the body of the piece was probably 
heavily edited as well. (Derk's a better writer than that.)

FWIW, I spoke with two people at the LSG show last night who found 
out about it and came (separately) to the show specifically because 
of the Chron article. There may have been others, too.
