I agree 100% - I get something new (a lot of things, actually) out of Cecil's music every time I listen to it, and I listen to his music a lot. Therefore, to me, it is always new and radical. My point was only to say that I understand what Phillip was saying in terms of new phases/periods in the big musical picture.

Cecil's playing is both new and radical. What piano trio has gone
beyond the Feel trio? None. In recent weeks I have listened to:
"Looking Ahead", "Neferttiti, the Beautiful", The Feel Trio + strings
I mentioned earlier, the Willisau Concert (solo) and a recent radio
broadcast of the Dixon/Taylor/Oxley trio.
The differences of those recordings were huge, and the similarities
were only superficial.
