i wouldn't buy the theory of ad sales and press in the guardian for a
second. i've personally gotten shitloads of press in the guardian, and
never given them a red cent. for a while there my name got in there about
once a week. given the absolute-zero-mainstream-popularity of most of my
music, they had nothing financial whatsoever to gain by writing about me
in any way.
