You should try and call the Sheet Music Plus people in Emeryville if you can come in (I mean, there is an adderss on their website; I should try myself).

What you "can" find recorded on the net is frequently the virtuoso level show-off pieces (which I have very little chance of learning to play in the next 30 years, let alone for next month...). whereas what I'm looking for is something intermediate in playing level that gets across the point...here's a 12 tone piece...etc...

It's been my experience that sheet music stores are sorely
lacking. . . it's been decimated by the internet revolution, so the
physical browsing days are pretty much over. . . I buy stuff from
The Magic Flute in Terra Linda- no guarantee as to what they have in
terms of contemporary music, but depending on who's working, they
can be good for ordering. . . also if you're a music teacher you get
a %10 discount - www.themagicflute.net
In general, I've found for contemporary music it's better to browse
through the Berkeley music library, and then order online. This site
also has a fair amount of stuff: www.music44.com and is a little
cheaper than sheetmusicplus, though sometimes by only a few cents. . .
