I'm sorry, I'm not buying it ... after weeks of having to look at yahoo ads
for HP photo paper suggesting that its users could "get creative with Gwen
Stefani," I think most normal people want to think of themselves as
creative, or aspire to some form of creativity. Isn't that the "lesson" of
"Web 2.0"?

As far as emotion scaring normal people, as a teenager I took note that the
most popular songs on the radio employed a vocabulary consisting largely of
the words: feel, love, and baby (not to mention "whoa," "ooh" and "yeah".)
This was prior to the "grunge era" and the increasing prominence of the word
"hurt." The predominance of evangelical Christianity speaks to the appeal of
emotion - they want their Jesus "with feeling."

I'd accept the argument that creativity and emotion taken to perhaps an
extreme or "pure" form, might "scare the straights" (e.g.
"bleaahggigherrrruh" vs. "baby you make me hurt"), but definitely in George
Bush America (and Australia's got a conservative bent in its leadership as
well), people are more into emotion than logic.

traits are YOUR desired traits. Creativity and emotion scare normal people.
