and sometimes saying something is "pretentious" doesn't mean shit. 

who's to say the conversations she heard weren't actually important? like
if i sit here and have a discussion about some rare topic and somebody
else opens a dialogue but no body else knows what we're talking about, is
it a "pretentious" discussion? not necessarily. this "pretentious"
name-calling bit is tired. that word has become a simple blanket refuge
for many dullards. they don't know what you're talking about, so the
desultory rebuttal is that you're "pretentious". puke.
