so apparently "non-new-music-specialists" have a problem with 1)
intellect in music (how much is too much?) 2) levels of dissonance beyond
what, basic diatonicism? and 3) emotions they can't personally identify? 

FUCK 'EM. 

musical taste is, just that - a taste. to equate overly-intellectual,
dissonant and heartless directly to "what people don't like" is just
totally asinine.

world are you doing here if you're such a salt-of-the-earth musical
populist!!!?

folks, i'm here to tell you that there's a wide range of music to be made
and you can do more than one tiny sector of it. also, you don't have to
apologize for any of it.
