Great, classic stuff, thanks! It's interesting to compare it with the  
"related" link of Brötzmann and Bennik at Ehler's place in 2006; 36  
years of music.

I can't speak for others, but personally "free jazz" is passe when  
played as a "form."  When it's the language of the player's soul, who  
really believes that pushing their physical limits lifts them to a  
trance state of selfless spiritual communion,  it's a whole different  
bag of potatoes: the "Slammin' the Infinite" gig last week at 1510  
was refreshing in that sense- one hell of a group, and Sabir on alto  
was (as always) transcendent. Haven't heard that music played that  
well in a while. . .  maybe I could believe again. . .
