Am I the only person that thinks that what Rick Rubin did with a dying  
Johnny Cash had some great moments?  Or the beats for Jay-Z's 99  Problems?  Or the 
early Beastie Boy stuff?  That major record  companies are scrambling to 
understand a changing distribution model is good  news.  The RIAA is like an old 
railroad company.  The end is near.  I have benefited a lot from the basically 
free fluidity of the  Internet (once you subtract the cost of a connect, the 
computer and the  actual making of sound)  ... as have all of us who post 
YouTube links ...  there may only be 50 people in NY, or 25 in SF, or 30 in Paris 
who dig what I'm  doing, but connecting Lincoln NE with Williamsburg has been 
good for me ... my  focus group has always been small
