yes, and the Bourne movie with The French Connection ... which made me think
of Hackman's character in The Unforgiven in a different way, (I saw
Unforgiven before I got around to seeing French Connection) as being a
commentary on Gene Hackman as Popeye Doyle, just as Clint Eastwood's
character was a reference to iconic Eastwood characters ...

decided that film is a new milestone in "you know everything that will
happen before it happens"...

I like to refer to those as "dolphin moments" (named after the scene in
Titanic ... where the dolphins appear on cue]  - it would be obvious and a
total cliché for [x] to happen, and then it does ...
