For other cool stories and research about music and the brain I
recommend Oliver Sach's "Musicophilia"  [see http://musicophilia.com/]
 His case studies follow functions and/or disturbances of the brain
which music may cause... as well as disorders which may cause musical
side effects and other interesting interactions between
musicians/composers and their brains.

His familiar writing style make for a very accessible and fun
introduction to the neuroscience and relating to music.... and even if
you know quite a bit about the subject, his research is widespread and
the book is very recent so includes some research you may have
missed...
