[NewMusic] Acceptance Speech

[Matthew Goodheart]

I'd like to thank the little people who helped me on the way up. And  
for the concrete affirmation that all OTHER composers suck. . .  
Lachenmann, Shmachenmann, I say!

This arrives concurrent with my reception of the "So Far Behind the  
Times as to Be Unimaginable Lame and Irrelevant" award, which arrived  
this morning as a result of finally opening a myspace page. . .  and  
for those lucky  few who may receive a "friend" request in the coming  
days, (knowing, of course, that non of you could ever be REAL   
friend), know that it is to be a friend to glory, and to the highest  
achievements of the human mind.

I will be receiving guests (accompanied with appropriate monetary  
"appreciations") this afternoon as I model for the sculpting of my  
marble bust. Miniature copies will be available on ebay within the  
week. (All proceeds will be forwarded to a worthy cause. . . me.)

As I go forth now from this glorious virtual ceremony to expand my CV  
with several such luminous awards, filling it as thoroughly as high  
fructose corn syrup fills the American diet, I've asked Sacheen Little  
Feather to post a few comments. . .
