Hmmm, isn't it also "African American Vernacular English"? It embedded
itself in my newspeak from hanging out with jazz musicians in the
early 90's who were of the appropriate vernacular demographic- which
I'll cop to being a totally bogus reason to use it: along with "bad"
and "cat", which sometimes emerge unbidden from the id (thereby
proving I am not only a poser, but a spineless parrot.)
I'm thinking of trying to switch to "yous."
