yep, polyrhythmic wipers in iowa, too. i spent my sunny bus rides absorbing the rhythms of the fenceposts and cornfields as they went by the bus window, realizing that you can make time speed up and slow down depending on how and where you focus your gaze.
watching and listening to waterfalls is an encyclopedia of time/space/sound.
