Peter Evans (trumpet) joins local all-stars Henry Kaiser (guitar), Jon
Raskin (saxophone), Damon Smith (contrabass), Weasel Walter (drums), and
William Winant (percussion) for an evening of small and large group
improvisation. 

As a performer, trumpet player, Peter Evans has been working to break
through the technical barriers of his instrument. As one of the new kids in
the New York down town scene, Peter Evans plays what other people might
describe as good old free jazz. But as you listen more closely you hear one
of the most versatile voices in modern music. Sometimes triumphant,
sometimes ironic but always radical. He has played good old Baroque, good
old roc k (with the drummer from rock band The Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and in
contemporary ensembles like Alarm Will Sound. To do some name dropping: His
latest cd was released on Evan Parker¹s label and music magazine The Wire
called it one of the 50 most essential recordings of the year. And as you
