First launched in 2002, Grosse Abfahrtimprovises over long distances  
(the name means “great departure” in German). This performance starts  
with a core group of five of the Bay Area’s finest creative musicians,  
adds some local spice, and fearless flyers Fred Frith and Chris Brown.  
Expect to depart for some far-off locales of unheard beauty.
