Alee Karim

Alee Karim (b. 1980) has been enamored of music since he was ten years
old. He tried to stop and do something "serious" in college but that
didn't work. Born in Southern California, he relocated to the Bay Area
almost a decade ago. His primary motivation is to write
multi-dimensionally engaging music with a tendency towards syncretizing
the philosophies of disparate genres, creating a specific architecture
with which to realize his sonic visions. The bulk of his energies go
towards writing and playing guitar in the cinematic prog band, The
Atomic Bomb Audition, an all-encompassing whale of variegated sonic
constitutions. He plays bass in the angular post-punk group, Mute
Socialite with Ava Mendoza and Moe! Staiano. Most recently, he has
begun to perform solo guitar pieces in an attempt to spontaneously
realize these overly ambitious compositional forms. He has spent the
last two years collaborating with and writing music for the musicians
of Mills College, where he is currently completing an MFA in Improvised
Performance.
