is a critically acclaimed composer and performer. As a composer, Brenner has written extensively for chamber ensembles, art installations, and independent film. The most recent film was for canyon cinemas'Ken Paul Rosentha's 'arcs of texture', which was screened at the 2006 Mill Valley Film Festival and the Images Contre Nature Festival of experimental video in Marseille, France. From 1999-2000, Brenner worked as staff composer for Laguna Hills High School writing the music for their drumline. As a performer, Brenner has been active in both extremely new and extremely old music. He has performed with critically acclaimed international artists in various genres. Though focusing on primarily chamber music, Brenner has toured nationally and internationally in various types of ensembles. The current group Brenner performs in and writes for is his own ensemble - counterpoint culture. He also occasionally performs with the Paul Bailey ensemble. His teachers have included Lloyd Rodgers, Alvin Curran, Steed Cowart, and Mark Petrash for composition, Luther Hughes for electric bass, and Christine Dow for piano. Brenner earned his B.M. in Music Composition at California State University, Fullerton. He is currently working on a M.A. in composition at Mills College.
